The bottom line is the desire to network with like minded people and put on a good show. FMPug will do everything it can to assist you in making your group a "howling" success.

While I am here I will point out that entries are still valid for our phenomenal drawing to take place on May 11th. What is the drawing you ask? Why, it is for $2000 of FileMaker Pro 7 training with Jerry Robin of FMPtraining in Phoneix AZ in June. The catch, why we want a review of his class.

Let me tell a litle story of how things began for FMPug.

When I took over the user group in Orlando, FL back in November 03 there was 1 person attending. The second month there were 2 people, then 4 and so on. Each month more people attended, where we now we have an average of 25-30 people a month with more people joining each month.

Yes it takes some work and commitment from the local coordinators. This may include going to local user groups such as Mac or PC groups and letting people know you are in the area for FileMaker. Here at FMPug HQ we will do all we can to help you out.

Heathbo or Ralph. Drop me an email with a contact number and I will be more than happy to talk to you guys. Lets see if we can't work something out. There are lots of people in the area who use FileMaker. I guarantee it.

And so you know, the drawing for the $2000 worth of FMP training has closed. We have a winner selected and have contacted them to ensure they can make the training before we announce their name to the masses.

The drawing was performed by FileMaker Pro 7 in a truly random fashion. Rather than just pick a random record once, we ran a script that sorted records based on an unstored randomized number for each record 1 million times and each time a record was first in the found set a counter was increased by 1 for that person.

After 1 million permutations we had a winner. OK, OK, 10, 100 or even a 1000 would probalby have been sufficient, but I just wanted to give everybody truly a good chance at winning.
