Inserted pictures print at a low resolution

Featured Replies

I'm trying to print our company logo and have inserted various file types (pdf, eps, tif) but they all print at a low resolution. The artwork is vector based and isn't a problem from Illustrator, but it seems FM downsamples the art to 72 ppi. Any suggestions would be welcome.

My experience has been that FileMaker deals with EPS files better than AI files. It seems to be able to only access and print only the preview file that is within the AI file. This preview file is lo-rez. Try an EPS file

Nell,

Your profile says that you're using FM7 - is that right? If so, you should be printing your eps or tiff files at their native resolution, whether in a container field or as a placed graphic. Filemaker 5.5 and lower was very iffy in this behavior but 7 has always worked beautifully for me, and I use .eps files in my FM work everyday.

so... check that the .eps or tiffs are indeed at 144 or 300 dpi, and not at the lower screen dpi.

Can you post a sample file we can look at?

Tony,

Your right it should work and it did with a brand new eps file. I have no idea what was wrong with the previous one, but I'm just thankful it works at this point!

Cool, glad it worked out!
