dave2000 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Hi everyone, i have about 10 database files in our win2000 server and when i go to the hosts dialogue box the file is not there but every other file is. The database works perfectly but for this one file. Therefore other users in our company cant open the file as it says the host cannot be found. It used to work ok and i cant understand why it has stopped showing up. I have restarted the server and that makes no difference. Does anyone know where i could be going wrong? I am only average experience and your help would be very much appreciated! Thankyou
QuinTech Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Does the Windows Application Log tell you anything? For instance, it may say "Such-and-such a file could not be opened." If so, this may indicate corruption. Also, check that the file's sharing status is set to Multi-user and not Multi-user (Hidden). HTH, Jerry
dave2000 Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 Thanks quin tech yes its set to multi user but when i open it it says it is a guest of tcp/ip whereas all the other files say they are a guest of the server ip. i will check that log file dave
QuinTech Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 It sounds like maybe it is on a remote machine (not the server). Check your directories.
