I suspect I should know this but I've gone brain dead!

Attached is the relationships for my layout which is based on Employee. The Portal is based on time entry line items. The job title automatically entered from the job bag. What I want to do is ensure that users cannot overwrite the Job Title when they are adding entries from here. I don't seem to be able to stop them.

Well, Sari, one option would be to turn off the option to allow entry to the job title field in browse mode on the layout that has your portal on it.

That sounds like just what I want, Ray, but where do I actually do that?

Hi Sari,

Go into Layout Mode, select the field, then go to the 'Format' menu (or right-click for the contextual menu) and select 'Field Behavior...'.

That will bring up the Field Behavior dialog, which provides access to the 'Allow field to be entered:' settings for Browse mode and Find mode (a couple of checkboxes near the top of the dialog).
