Using custom Find in Browse mode

Hi,

I'm trying to mimic the search functions of nearly every website and software search engine which allows you to type in your search and press "enter," thus initiating the search. I'm also trying to have one field which searches across several fields.

The way I have it set up is users type their search in global text field in Browse mode (you can't access global fields in find mode). Then they are supposed to click the "Find" button which runs a script that cuts the text from the global field, enters a layout that contains a calculation field which is the cumulative text from several fields, pastes the find in the cumulative text field, performs the find and then goes back to the orignal layout.

I know I could just as easily paste the search into different fields over multiple find requests, but I like the calculation field for other non-search reasons, so I may as well use it.

Bar none, the users type in their request and hit enter, thus breaking to a new line. I could force the tab order to go to a new field instead upon hitting enter, but that still doesn't solve my problem:

How do I get FP to initiate a script when the user either hits "enter" at the end of their text and/or exits the current field?

All I have to say is, what you are trying to do *completely* defeats the amazing Find functionality of FM! No wonder no one has replied to your puzzle -- it's pointless. If someone want to search over multiple fields, make them do it in Find mode! jeeees.
