Here is the deal...

I have a field defined as a pop up list (not menu) of a certain

value list. In browse mode, when you click on the field there is a

significant delay until the list shows up. Any ideas what is causing this?

It is very annoying as well as interrupting the daily work flow. This can not

happen if i am on the phone with a client and need info. pronto.

How is your value list defined?

It doesn't seem to matter how the field is defined.

It hangs if it is defined as 'from another field', 'value list from another file', or even 'custom values'. There is a delay in all cases.

Hmmm....

Well...i found a category exclusively for Value lists and after scanning through it, it appears that other people are having the same peoblem as i am.

Looks like it is a FM7 bug.

Its related to the number of windows open at the time - it gets slower the more FileMaker windows that exist.
