Can I hide a record?

Featured Replies

I am trying to create beginning balance records in one file from another file to show on a report, but I don't want the data to show in the body. I don't mind if it looks like a blank line but I don't want my users to get confused so I'd like it to be invisible. I need to have the record in my found set, however, as the totals depend upon the record. I'm basically combining multiple beginning balance lines into one total that I want to show on a subsummary section above the body.

If I'm interpreting your request correctly, delete the body part itself. Remove all fields, highlight "body" in layout mode & hit delete button.

The subsummary part will summarize whether the fields being summarized are visible or not, so long as hyou've made the right found set & sorted on the break field.

There are many interesting uses for body-part-free layouts.
