Repeating Fields -> Merge fields?

Featured Replies

Hi,

After much trouble trying to get portal records to print within an invoice or quote, I stumbled upon Repeating Fields. If I want to use these as merge fields, can I? If so, how?

If this is the wrong place for this question, please advise.

Ta very muchly

Though you can specify repetitions for a repeating field in a merge field:

<<field[1]>>

<<field[2]>>

...

I think you would be taking a giant step backwards in switching from your relational quote/invoice system to a flat-file solution using repeating fields.

You haven't said what your print issues are with these quote/invoices, but the typical way to print line items with the invoice info, is to jump to the related line items, and print them from a columnar report with sub-summary parts in a layout based on the line items.
