I'm designing a booking-in system at Work.

Obvious at the cornerstone of this system will be the unique order number that will be assigned to each job.

Orders will be booked in by a number of different people over the course of a working day.

Is there a way that I can format this so that the next number appears automatically, thereby minimising the likelihood of the operator assigning the wrong number?
