Organizing a portal???!!!!

I have a portal set up called "Activity History." I have set up a script that allows the current Activity to be transfered into the History portal each time there is a new "Activity" (Status, Location, etc, etc..) - Is there anyway to set up my portal so that the most recent activity is in the first portal row? i.e., each time you add a new portal row, each row moves down one to accommodate the new line.

I even tried sorting it by date - but for some reason it still doesn't sort - any ideas?

I had a similar situation and here's what I did.

1. Create a Timestamp field that autoenters the time on creation of a new record (activity, etc.)

2. Under Portal Format, sort the portal using the time stamp field in ascending order.
