Sari Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Hi, Is there any way of having a "watermark" on a layout which won't get in the way of sliding/printing? Thanks
BobWeaver Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Place the watermark field on the layout so that the top edge of it is sitting in the header part of the layout. You may need to set the field to Bottom Alignment, resize it and generally tweak the various parameters so the watermark appears where you want it. This should work with either a container field or a text field. Because the field starts in the header, Filemaker considers the whole thing as part of the header, so it won't affect sliding or printing in the body part, and it will print behind the body fields.
Sari Posted May 12, 2005 Author Posted May 12, 2005 Many thanks, that was brilliant. Are you able to tell me how to get that watermark over several pages?
BobWeaver Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Is it a list type of report or one record per page? And can you give a bit more detail about how you want it to appear on the subsequent pages? I.E., does the watermark need to change from one page to the next.
Sari Posted May 12, 2005 Author Posted May 12, 2005 Hi, Its the same watermark and it is for an invoice, purchase order, quote, etc. I can set up my layout for one page but sometimes the fields may be full and long and may cover several pages. We have to have the watermark on each page as it gives company info; a legal requirement I'm afraid.
BobWeaver Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 If it's in the header, it should print on every page. Make sure that the top edge is in the header, and not the title header.
