AJB_UMASS Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Is there a way to check if a _specific_ error occurred? It seems like if you use the TRY command, you can trap error conditions, but there's no method for seeing what the problem actually was. Does anyone have a way to check this? Does there exist a list of numerical equivalents for Filemaker Applescript errors?
AJB_UMASS Posted May 10, 2005 Author Posted May 10, 2005 Never mind - I figured it out. Here's what works: try tell application "FileMaker Pro" activate go to window "abc" do script "xyz" end tell on error number errNumber if errNumber = -1728 then tell application "FileMaker Pro" getURL "fmp7://usename:[email protected]/abc.fp7" delay 5 do script "xyz" end tell end if end try ---------- The DELAY command isn't necessary; but for my example, the database needs a few seconds to total some info, when opening for the first time. The "-1728" error code is the numerical equivalent to "Object not found".
