Best way to create a time billing/tracking layout

I'm new to FM and am trying to figure out the best way to create a time tracker for jobs. I could have anywhere from 5 to 50 lines for my billing records so a Portal looks great and takes up little space. I'm just not sure this is the way to go since the fields display values from a previously defined relationship and I will be entering data
