Hi, Folks...

Fairly new user to FM. Everything I know about databases is self taught. First with Access, then a MUCH easier time with FM.

Like to see if anyone can help. We build kits--long and short of it is we have parent, child, and grandchild tables (Parent is the Kit, Child is the Activity in the kit (multiple), and the grandchild is the items needed for the activity (inventory).

Once we assign activities to a kit, we want to export the kit (a piece of all 3 tables) to another FM file. Reason being: activities will often have the same items (say, beakers). We want to consolidate the items into different quantities without affecting the activity quanties.

Example: Activity A and B are in a kit together. A uses 5 beakers, B uses 10 Beakers. We would only put 10 beakers in (no need to force the customer to buy excess).

Example2: A and B both use a certain chemical. We would need to SUM the chemical in this case, since it is a consumable item.

Difficulty I've had is exporting--I'll get the info from the parent table, and only the 1st line of the child/grandchild.

I've seen mention of a 'bug' in v7.0.3 WRT exporting...is this what I'm experiencing, or am I doing this wrong?

Thanks!

armin
