storing and Burning Cd's of audio file

I am a novice Fm 7 user. I am developing a solution for my wife. She is a hypnotherapist and wants to store her patient notes, billings, and audio hypnosis files she makes for her patients. I have finished the notes and billings. I can't seem to figure out a way to store audio (up to 15 minutes) for later burning to Cd's. I have a program recorder.xhead from xhead software which is a simple audio recording program. It makes clean audiofiles and can export them to iTunes, so I can burn the CD. I figured that I would store the file in Filemaker and if my wife needed to burn a replacement CD she would double click the file. But I can't seem to automate this. I was thinking maybe I needed to use applescript to connect all the programs together somehow. Anyone have any ideas

I'm not sure if I understand what you want to automate. You can certainly stick the file in the container - so perhaps you want to automate burning the file to CD via iTunes? I'm just looking at the iTunes AppleScript dictionary, and don't see a command for "burn" or "record", which is weird, because iTunes is very scriptable. Hmm... The Finder doesn't have those commands in its dictionary either. How odd.

I don't have Toast on this machine, so I can't look at the dictionary for that. I wonder if there's a scriptable burning app out there - perhaps on versiontracker or somewhere... You may want to post a query in the AppleScript forum here and see if anyone knows more. Once you've found the right application, the automation of the whole thing would be quite simple.

I was trying to make the use of three programs as seamless as possible. Filemaker pro would store the audio file that was created in the xhead software which exported it to itunes to burn it. I wanted to be able to press a button in filemaker which would run the a script to open the xhead software and store the created audiofile in filemaker for future use. I bought a book to try to learn applescript since I thought that is what I would have to use
