Timothy_HK Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 I don't know why one of my existing file didn't save the print setting after I change the paper size via [Print Setup] (Whatever it is done by script or manaully). And, it only happens in 1 file only, all the others are working fine. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to resolve it? I've tried, 1. Recover the file 2. Make a clone file then import file from original file. Fyi, it will be work if I change to different printer then change the printer back to HP6L. So strange!
Jake Sterling Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I can't tell from what you have written exactly what the problem is, but when I have had similar problems it usually has turned out that 1. I have not checked off "Restore Page Setup Options" in the Page Setup script step, 2. I have checked it off but it is remembering the wrong options. The solution to this is to set the page set up manually, then open your script and close it again immediately. When you close it a window will appear asking if you want to replace your page set up. Choose the radio button on the right that indicates that you do want to change it. 3. The script runs a sub-script that has other page setup options. It may be that you have tried all these and they haven't worked. But I find that it's almost always some little thing that I have overlooked that causes my scripts to fail. Something I do that helps me to stay out of trouble is to set up a few scripts that do nothing but page setup. Then, when I want to make sure that a report will print correctly, I use these subscripts. If a problem arises, I know exactly where to look and how to fix it. Good luck Jake
