Screen Refresh/Blink

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Filemaker is constantly redrawing as I move my mouse. The worst seems to be the relationship view. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Shouldn't be doing that. Make sure you are updated to FMP 7.0v3.

Otherwise start looking for device driver conflicts etc.

I just updated. Thanks for the tip. The refresh seems to be better in most views but the relationship view still flashes whenever I move the mouse in the table window.

You do not say how complex the program is or what speed/platform your machine is on.

I had a complex program running on an old 400 MHz B&W. The relationship view drove me crazy....blink ,refresh, blink, refresh

I through a 1 GHz G3 in the machine and things improved.

So this could just be a slow hardware issue.

The program I'm running is very small. I'm just getting started. It's nothing more than a handful of tables, the largest with about 300 rows of data.

My machine is an Athlon Xp 2600+, 1 gig ram, etc... hardware should not be an issue.

Thanks.

I've figured out the problem. I was using a little program called Cursor XP to give me custom cursor effects. When I turned it off everything stopped flashing.
