Relationships - Text Fields

Using FM 7. I have two tables - Insureds and InsCompany. They are related by a text field "Carrier". Each insured record has one "Carrier" and the InsCompany table contains 275 "Carriers". When I try to add numeric fields from the InsCompany table to the Insureds table, I either get nothing or only a few instances of the correct information.

The Carrier text in each field is exactly the same. Any ideas.

i assume you were using "look up" method to look up numeric fields from the InsCompany.

if problem consist, you might want to exam the relationship you created. Sounds like the two tables are related not only by the field Carrier, but also might be some other field.

just my thoughts

No, I did not use the lookup. I added a field to my Insureds table and specified a field from the InsCompany table. The relationships graph shows a many to many relationship, when I believe it should be one (Insureds) to many (InsCompany), but haven't found how to change that.
