May 27, 200520 yr Hi .... my final step to databasepublishing: setting up Filemaker 7 as ODBC datasource for 3-4 clients. How can this be done withoutr buying Server Advanced? I think that would be a total overkill for such a small workgroup.... thx. MAcB
May 27, 200520 yr I think that's your only choice... Why not just skip ODBC and use 3-4 FMP clients? Otherwise you're just as well using MySQL or PostgreSQL as the ODBC data source. You could populate it with your FMP data via ODBC and synchronize in both directions using Import and Execute SQL.
May 27, 200520 yr Author Maybe i should have explained more. We use Indesign with a plugin. This plugin pulls data from Filemaker 7 through ODBC.Because this is a bi-directional solution i am able to update Filemaker based upon changes made in Indesign. MySQL could be a alternative but it would be too much of a hassle to admin 2 databases..i think. thx for the input. MacB
