I have a database that I no longer want, and would like to delete; Somehow it is locked. I am the person who built and used it, and have no idea how it got locked, or how to unlock it. Any suggestions?

My guess in the file is locked in the OS. You can check this by selcting the file in the Finder and choosing File->Get Info. Locked files in the trash are normally protected from deletion with emptying the trash, but if you hold the option key down when you empty trash, locked files will be deleted too.
