Newbies Cooper Posted June 15, 2005 Newbies Posted June 15, 2005 I am evaluating Pro 7. So bear with the stupidity of my questions. What I want to do is bring in 3 Excel files, that are different but relational. I want to bring them in as 3 tables in one database. I need to know from scratch because nothing I have done works. I can bring them in as seperate databases but not tables. So how is this for a dumb question? Thanks for any help.
Walter B Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Create the three tables in Filemaker (including fields). Then select import and specific the Excel file you want to import and the table you wanted imported to, match up the fields, and import. Repeat until all excel files are imported. Now you can go in and create the relationship. Hope this helps
Newbies Cooper Posted June 17, 2005 Author Newbies Posted June 17, 2005 That helps. After I posted I read something in the forum here that basically I can import the first table but need to set up the tables and fields for subsequent tables prior to import. You have confirmed that. I very much like the program, I suppose you will be seeing a lot of me in the future! Thanks again. Catherine
