agutleben Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 I am wondering if anyone has any information that could point me in the direction of learning how to generate an RSS feed using FileMaker. I do not need a dynamic connection between FileMaker and the web, only to generate the correct XML syntax for the XML file. Any help would be most appreciated.
Martin Brändle Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Since a week, we have over 2000 RSS feeds driven by FM databases and CWP (with XSLT) live. Four can be used worldwide, the other only within our domain. http://www.infochembio.ethz.ch/en/rss.html Of course, the XSLT depends on what you want to publish. Start with this thread: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=141389&an=0&page=5#141389 And a very good book is Hammersley Ben, Content Syndication with RSS, O'Reilly, 2003, ISBN 0-596-00383-8
Martin Brändle Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Look also at the Simple RSS export example of the FMI XSLT library: http://www.filemaker.com/products/technologies/xslt_library.html
