wingwalker Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 I made a runtime copy of my solution on a Pc, copied it onto a Mac and uploaded it to a web page. When I downloaded it from the web site onto another Pc, it was not recognized as an application that existed on the Pc and would not open. I thought once you made it runtime it was automatic and would not look for an application. Do I have to upload it from a Pc or is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks guys, James "The Wing Man"
Reed Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Did you just upload the runtime database file, or did you zip the whole project folder with the .exe file and all the .dll files?
wingwalker Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 Hi Reed, I made a zip of the whole project folder with the .exe file and all of the .dll files! James
Reed Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Well, then I'm not sure why it doesn't work... My runtimes (both PC and Mac versions) are hosted on a Mac Web server, and I've never had a problem yet. I made the PC zip archive on the PC before transferring it to the web server, but that was so I could make an alias to the .exe in a parent folder so the users wouldn't need to look at all the .dll files.
wingwalker Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 Hello again Reed, I really don't understand it either. I did both the Mac and Pc versions on the same day and in the same way. But the Pc will not open. We don't have Pc's here in the office, so I have to go across town to use one. But my concern is that the new runtime will end up not working just like the current runtime.
