How to purge web publishing log files

Tried to open the log file pe_application_log.txt and could not, size is over 32MB. Checked the WPE Admin program and it does not let one purge this file. Tried deleting the file in hopes that it would be recreated when access was needed but this did not work either. any suggestions would be appreciated....... Ray

Talked to a FileMaker tech rep today, currently they do not have a facility to archive these logs. Since these are text files and FileMaker does not add any header info you can simply move them to an "Old Log" folder/directory and create new empty log files with a text editor......... Ray
