Formatting XSLT Code in Filemaker 7

I am using Filemaker 7 Pro and Filemaker 7 advanced to host databases. I use Filemaker site assistant to export the file into xslt code then I take the xslt code and try to change the background, but when I do try this and drop these files back on the server to host the database I get an error. When I change the code I am using either Dreamweaver or notepad, but either one makes any difference when I drop it back on the server because the file errors out when viewed on the web. If I change the file and preview it in Dreamweaver it works exactly the way I want it, but not when I go drop it back on the Server. Could someone please help.

What kind of error do you get? Perhaps an access violation. You must set the protection so that fmserver can read and write.

I have been converting a lot of CDML files to XSL to server on FMSA with custom web publishing, so I have been through quite a learning curve. If you are talking about the error that your browswer displays that refers to a specific line and column where the error is, then I know how to fix that.

I had to switch from my html editor (Pagespinner) to oXyGen xml editor, which has a xml code validator function in it. I found that if I could get the code to pass the code validator in oXyGen, then the browser would pass it, as well. I have never used Dreamweaver or any of the others like it, so I can't speak to it specifically, but I did switch editors, and now know how to move forward with my code changes.

Hope that helps.
