I created a solution on one computer then moved it to another.

File options and import are greyed out, I can open define database but cannot modidy file and I cannot add, change or delete records. In other words I have only read only access.

I change my login name to admin (same as is on the orginal computer), still no access

I went back to the original computer and added my name as a user, gave myself full privilages, moved the file to the new computer, logged in with my name and still no access.

what am i missing here.

The new computer is on tiger the old panther

I transfered the file from the old computer over our local network to our server (not FileMaker server).

I opened server using the finder, then drag and dropped the file from the document folder where it was stored and dropped in the server.

I then repeated the same to transfer the file from the server to the new machine. I did this as a two step because both machine have access to the server.

This is an OS X permission thing that happens sometimes when moving files around.

In the OS X Finder, you'll need to reset the permissions for the file(s) (select the file and then select File->Get Info.) The Group should be "fmsadmin" with Read & Write permission. If the solution files are within a sub-folder of the Databases folder, you will need to change the permissions on that sub-folder too.

I just moved the file from one machine to the other without dropping it on the server and everything is working. Apparently the os x permission thing was happening from one of the server transfers.

Once again thanks for all you do.

I am wondering how many people from here are going to the devcom. I would like to meet some of you. Especally ender since I think he a helped me before. Not sure yet if I am going, will decide this week before the discount expires.
