Filemaker server 5.5 and CDML pages

Featured Replies

I'm a newbie at filemaker and filemaker server. For the moment I'm hosting a few databases with filemaker pro and I've made custom webpages with CDML. I've managed to buy a second hand license of filemaker server 5.5 and I've installed this version. So far so good, but then I'm stuck

Can I use the web pages I've created in filemaker server as in filemaker pro? Where do I put these files? How do you make a web interface for your database for filemaker server

Thanks

You can't host your CDML pages with FM 5.5 Server.

Either you host them still the same way in FMPro as you did before (with the known IP limit), or in FM Unlimited (no IP limit). The only difference is that FMPro or FM Unlimited opens it DB from FM Server.

This means that you need a computer for FM Server and an additional one for FM or FMU in the simplest case. You can not host both on the same computer due to port and performance conflicts.

If you need more performance, you can build a RAIC with a webserver, the web server connector and additional computers with FMU installed.

Anyway, it is already difficult to get licenses for FMU 6. Probably you have to consider a switch to FMS7A.
