Newbies BBRU2281 Posted July 6, 2005 Newbies Share Posted July 6, 2005 Is it possible to use a table with more than 2 columns to feed a database? I have a salary table with 130 Range and 6 Step combinations. I would like to put in the employee's Range and Step and have it pull the hourly rate of pay from the salary table. I can make a relationship between the ranges but that does not address the steps. I am a very basic filemaker user. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. RalphL
In FMP 5 you will need a calculated field = Range & " " & Step in both tables (files). Use this field as the key for the relationship. This is not a layout question.
Newbies BBRU2281 Posted July 6, 2005 Author Newbies Share Posted July 6, 2005 Thanks, I will try that formula. Sorry about posting in the wrong place. I am pretty new to this.
