kenseye Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 I guess this is as good a place to ask this question...Is there a way to print a list of field names?
andygaunt Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 Yes, Go to file print and choose Field Definitions instead of current record or records being browsed. You can also print off scripts as well.
kenseye Posted March 8, 2002 Author Posted March 8, 2002 Thanks Andy. That was pretty simple. As always, FMForums has been the best resource for me. Kens
Wasatch Posted March 15, 2002 Posted March 15, 2002 If you have Adobe Acrobat (not just the Reader), you can make a PDF file of any or all the Scripts or Field Names, without having to make hard copy. This has been very useful with DBs that have a lot of scripts: Select the Acrobat's virtual printer, then choose "Print" from within FM. In the dialog box select Destination "File"; PDF Settings "FileMaker Pro" (up near top of list, may be hidden). This brings up a lot of FM specific options.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted March 15, 2002 Posted March 15, 2002 Check out the Design Functions. There is one to do specifically what you asked. Old Advance Man
kenseye Posted March 15, 2002 Author Posted March 15, 2002 Any of you out there ever copyright a solution? Because you have to submit a hard copy of the solution with your submission for copyright, what do you submit? Scripts? Field definitions? Screen shots?
Chuck Posted March 16, 2002 Posted March 16, 2002 Copyriting doesn't have to take place explicitly for a work to be copywritten. Take a look at a book by Nolo Press called Copyright Your Software as well as Software Development: A Legal Guide. Chuck
Rigsby Posted March 18, 2002 Posted March 18, 2002 Another good thing about PDF is that you can mark, copy and paste text later to use in other BBs. It's also grat for creating hand-books for users. :-) Rigsby
