Pop-up lists/menus and tabbing

My user wants to be able to tab to a pop-up menu field and also he wants this to be the first tab field. Is this possible? I think that a pop-up list field would work but he wants a menu ... I guess the ideal situation would be for it to pop-up automatically when the layout is opened. Is this achievable?

Pop-up menus don't pop up when you tab into a field on a Mac, this only works on windows (It's been this way in previous versions of FM too... I never understood why FMI makes this behavior inconsistent across platforms)

So you have to use a pop-up list if you want to do this on a Mac.
