SMTPit Pro updated (4.0.2) and CNS Forums

Fort Worth, TX, August 15, 2005 -- Comm-Unity Networking Systems announces the release of SMTPit Pro 4.0.2, for FileMaker 7 and above for Macintosh and Windows. This version includes a few bug fixes and updated features.

SMTPit Pro is a next generation email plug-in for FileMaker Pro 7 and greater. SMTPit Pro provides a vast array of email options. You can send simple text based messages or you can send complex HTML messages. You can send a single message or an entire mail out. Its functionality is flexible enough to cover many email tasks.

Features

This version adds the ability to name the status window. An additional parameter has been added to the SMTPit_StatusWindow function named "WindowTitle". For example, if you wanted to name the status window "My Solution email status", you would use the SMTPit_StatusWindow function in the following manner:

SMTPit_StatusWindow( "Show" ; "" ; "" ; "My Solution email status")

Bug Fixes

- Fixed a bug with specifying attachments from the Configuration Dialog.

- Fixed a bug with sending attachments in mass emails.

- Fixed a few problems with the email address syntax verification.

- Fixed a bug concerning running the plug-in under Instant Web Publishing on FileMaker Pro Client (this does not fix the problem with FMSA).

- Fixed a bug in SendWithDialog when running in Developer's Mode.

CNS Forums

CNS recently added forums to our website. The aim of the CNS Plug-in Forums is to build a community of knowledge both about CNS Plug-ins and FileMaker plug-ins in general. Anyone can read posts, but you will need to register in order to post to the forums. Please feel free to post questions and answers to the forums, as this is a community effort. CNS representatives will be posting tips and answering questions as time permits.

We have added an interesting feature that you will not find on most forums that we are calling "Insert Functions...". This feature makes it easy to insert CNS Plug-in functions both by name and by prototype when posting a new message. You can also insert any FileMaker function, Script step, or calculation operator. Our hope is that this functionality will make it easy to post calculations in your posts.

You can download the new version of SMTPit Pro by going to the SMTPit website at http://www.smtpit.com and clicking the "Downloads" link at the top of the page on the blue bar.

You can evaluate SMTPit Pro for 30 days for free, however, after 30 days, SMTPit Pro should be removed from your hard drive if you do not plan to purchase it. The demo version of SMTPit Pro will display a splash screen every fifteen minutes that you use it, and attach a demo footer to each message sent. Once you purchase and register your copy of SMTPit Pro, the splash screen will no longer show and the demo footer will be removed.
