Updating all found records

I have a found set of 1900 records (from a dataset of over 4000 records) which all need to be updated in the same way--they all need to have the same value in a field defined with a radio button value list. This value-list field is now blank for all of these found records. How can I automate the process of updating all of the records?

manually change the value in one of the records, then choose replace field contents... from the records menu. the rest should be self-explanatory.
