Zero Tolerence Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Recently one of my "clients" upgraded to Tiger, and all of the sudden my runtimes quit working. Of course, they upgraded Monday, when I was away at Devcon, with my PC laptop, so I can't really check out what could be causing this, anyone else had these kinds of problems? One of the users has Filemaker 7, and while it opens fine, as soon as they try to run my script, the whole application crashes on them. I've heard that this could have something to do with fonts, and maybe a few script steps like foundcount. Can anyone confirm this for me? Any suggestions are much appriciated.
Zero Tolerence Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 Just an Update. I've found that my 'client' removes certain system fonts, and while this worked fine with 10.3.9 when you upgrade to tiger, it causes the runtimes not to launch.
CyborgSam Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 NEVER remove/move/rename any fonts in either the /System/Library/Fonts or the /Library/Fonts folders. OS X and many applications expect certain fonts to be there and if they're not, it barfs bigtime. This has been an issue with several versions of OS X, I'm surprised your client got away with it in 10.3.
