Help! I can't delete one particular record

I am getting an error message every time I attempt to delete one particular record. None of the other records seem to be affected.

It reads:

"This operation can not be performed because one or more required related tables is missing."

This is an important issue for me since this is for a commercial runtime application, which has been a very demanding and complex development effort.

The record was created in the middle of the build, which initially was in FM7 Dev, and now with FM8 Advanced. (The error occurs in both versions.)

I created a Database Design Report in FM8. It's quite long. In scanning it, nothing stands out. But I don't know what to look for anyway.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular error message or with identifying errors showing up in DDR's?

Thanks,

Ron

He said:

"None of the other records seem to be affected."

And:

"The record was created in the middle of the build, which initially was in FM7 Dev, and now with FM8 Advanced."

So I think that the real problem will be difficult to find.

The message refers to a missing related table, could this have something to do with the checkbox "Delete related records in this table when a record is deleted in the other table".

In other words is there a relationship in the diagram with a missing table and this box checked?

Thanks for all of your insights. Because this is an application for commercial use, and not my own, nearly all of the records that are in the database now are for test purposes only and therefore non-critical.

So I followed a tact similar to Raybaudi's suggestion, creating a clone of the database. That did the trick. However, it remains to be a known bug with an unknown source.

SlimJim, I think you're on to something. I've got 24 table relationships to look through, so it may take awhile to try to figure it out. I do know that a few months ago I deleted one or two tables that I no longer needed. That could be the culprit. If so, I don't know ... may just have to live with it.

Thanks again everyone. This is such a great place to go for help!
