I am trying to display a calculation and a summary calculation with a dollar sign in each case and can't seem to be able to do this. Is it possible? There seems to be no way to define how the number is displayed.

You can change the way number fields are displayed in the Layout mode.

Under the Mode menu (ver.4) or View menu (ver 5) select the Layout command. Select the number field you wish to format, then go to the Format menu and choose Number. To get a dollar sign in front of the number you would select "Format as Decimal" and then "Use notation". Lots of options are available. Choose what is best for the report/layout.
