Sliding in Ver 8

Featured Replies

I have a simple layout..a field for name and date, a field with checkboxes, some text then a repeating field(up to 20) for names invited to a meeting. After that is a paragraph of text and a couple of date and text fields.

My problem is, when I print there is a huge gap between the repeating fields (if fewer than 20 are used) and the rest of the document.

I tried sliding up the items after the repeating field, but only the paragraph of text moves up. I'm always left with a big gap, no matter what sliding scheme I use.

I know FMP is nota printing program, but I need this dynamic in the number of names I invite, but professional looking when it prints.

ANy help is appreiated.

I kinda hate to say this, but I don't care for the sliding option. :) It's too ******* parciluar and seems to be a coin toss whether it'll work or not. This has been consistant with any version of FileMaker I've used.

For times I can't make it work or it just won't work, I've created a separate layout just for printing purposes that has a huge calculation field for all of the info I need. It's a pain, but once calced correctly, it works.

However, that really doesn't answer the question. If you have a sample file you could post, we could take a look and possibly spot any problems. Understanding how sliding works goes beyond any brief explanation I can give.
