Problems in finding related file records

Featured Replies

I have two files named 'company' and 'executives' which there is a one-to-many relationship based on an uniqued Company ID in company and Company ID in executives. Each executive has a key called Executive ID.

I have a portal based on the relationship and want to find the name of the executives from the master file 'company'. But the search results are all wrong.

Am I doing something wrong with the relationship?

The relationship which you have specified should be from Company To Executive file. What does the portal shows?

If the company id field is indexed in the child table then the relationship would be fine.

Note: The portal and fields from the Executives table should be displayed using the above relationship.

The portal shows the one-to-many relationship correctly. The relationship is from the master file key 'Company ID' to the child file key 'Company ID'.

The portal contain the fields of first name and last name from the child file. When I enter for example 'Mark' in the master file in the field of executive's first name in Find mode, the search results show not only Mark but other name also.

Is the problem come from the relationship?

When adding records in the executive table, how do you enter "CompanyID" field? Could you please verify if the CompanyID field is not the same for all the records.

Can you send a clone of your file?
