"out of memory" error message when printing from FM8

Operating System: OS X 10.3.9

We're using Filmaker 8.0 in conjunction with networked printers such as

HP Laserjet 8100, 8150 and 5100.

When attempting to print, some documents show an

"out of memory" error message everytime.

This only happens on some layouts and only when trying to print on the

HP Laserjet 8100 and 8150 printers whilst using Filemaker 8.

Any suggestions? As it surely isn't something to do with an actual lack

or memory to print mere documents. Plus, not being able to print is far

from ideal!

Me too, I don't know what the issue is but printing my job to pdf resulted in a file size of 4.4 MB. Changing the font on the print layout from Helvetica to Arial decreased the size to 44KB.

I am having this issue as well since upgrading to FM7. I have posted more info at topic #159972.

Anyone know what to do about this? I did try changing to Arial, but Arial or Helvetica, the PDF was the same size. I suspect the same font duplications are present in the file. How do I stop that?!

we tried upgrading to Pro8 too and experience very slow print spooling!....spoke to Filemaker and they say that it is a known problem with Pro8 and HP Laserjet printers!

as they didn't have a fix yet, i ended up downgrading back to Pro7 (v3a) to save the hassle!

I don't know if this will help, but I had a problem with 'out of memory' running an extended script that exports records as individual files.

To fix it I changed the memory option in the application preferences to 'every 10 minutes or when necessary'

Seemed to solve my problem, not totally sure it will help with printing, but probably worth a go!

I am brand new to FM8 and got the "out of memory" error when printing to an HP LJ2100M. Following a tip on this forum I changed fonts in the pesky layout to Arial and lo! it printed!

I was testing by just printing the current record, but it printed the layout twice: once with buttons and once without.

Anyone else had this experience? How to solve it? My contacts database has 2700 records. I don't want each one twice!
