Han Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Hallo All, i have installed [color:red]EventScript Plug-in, in Windows 2000 is Okey, but in Windows XP that plug-in not appear in the External functions I already copy into ...Extensions folder. Why..? Thanks
Kent Searight Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Is it enabled in FM Preferences? It should work...try downloading the plug-in and installing it in the extensions folder again. I use it with Win XP without a problem.
Homer Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 If you are using FileMaker 8, it is better to use the version 1.1 of EventScript. For an unknown reason, ES 1.0 is not recognize with some installations under Windows. On other computers, ES 1.0 is recognize with FM8/Windows, so this is a strange issue. If you are using FileMaker 7, EventScript 1.0 should be fine but you can also use ES 1.1 with FMP version 7. The plug-in is totally compatible in every configurations. Actually, both versions are almost the same plug-in but ES 1.1 is newer, got some minor improvements and were compiled with the FM8's API. Han Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 in the Preferences, EventScript not appear, so i can't enabled or disabled. i have installed in 3 computers with Win XP and i have tried ES 1.0 and ES 1.1 also, but....i don't know why ? Thanks
Homer Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 (edited) An important thing to consider is the FileMaker revision. If you are running FM7, then be sure to install the latest update available. Under Windows, for the Pro distribution this is currently the 7v3a revision. Otherwise, this is the 7v3 revision. If you have the latest update already installed, then you are experimenting a very stange problem because either version (ES 1.0 or 1.1) should work on your computers. Can you give us more details about The FileMaker version(7 or 8)? Is it Pro or Pro Advanced distributions? Which Service Pack is installed on your WinXP (sp1, sp2)? I don't think the language is really the cause, but in which language is your Windows? And your FileMaker?? Finally, do you have other plug-ins placed in your /Program Files/FileMaker/FileMaker xx/Extensions folder? If so, are they recognized?? Edited October 26, 2005 by Guest
