November 1, 200520 yr I can not figure out how to manage passwords and groups running FMS 5.5. I always have to shut down FMS, then open every file to add/change user setting, then restart FMS. There has got to be a simpler way. I have FMS admin installed on my laptop but not really sure if that will let me do it from there. any suggestions?;)
November 1, 200520 yr I can not figure out how to manage passwords and groups running FMS 5.5. I always have to shut down FMS, then open every file to add/change user setting, then restart FMS. This is the only built-in way to change passwords in FM5/6. But you might check out this tool from New Millennium: http://www.nmci.com/index.php?submenu=Developer_Software_Password_Administrato&src=directory&view=products&srctype=display&id=11&category=Password%20Administrator
November 1, 200520 yr any suggestions? Yes. Move up to the modern versions of the products. This was one of the major changes found in the .fp7 model. Steven

November 2, 200520 yr we are working on doing that but struggle with some of the applescripts that are written Well the Apple Event object model changed considerably because of the architectural changes in the product. OTOH if your Apple Scripts were written with full explicit object declarations, it should not be too much of a chore to migrate. One of the principal reasons that in 2001 I released that White Paper on FMP and Apple Events was to encourage people to use explict declarations in anticipation of the new object model. Steven
