jtscott Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 When accessing a database hosted by FMSA 7 using a FM7 client, a dialog pops up after 15 minutes (the idle out time we set) saying that the file is about to close due to inactivity. This despite the fact that it's in use. Pressing Cancel dismisses the dialog for another 15 minutes, but it's a real pain and is alarming some less savvy users. However, for security reasons, we don't want to disable the time out. Why does FMSA think the file is idle? Is there a server setting which we're missing?
Reed Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 me too! This is only happening to me on one machine though... all other clients only disconnect when they are actually idle. Most clients (including the problem one) are on XP SP2. Others are on 2000, or OS X 10.4.2
Vaughan Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Is the solution single- or multi-file? Perhaps the message is being generated by a file in amulti-file solution that isn't being used much.
Reed Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 For me, it's only a single file solution. And it's always the only file that's open.
