Hi there,

I have dragged some *.png graphic files into a container field so that if I copy and paste the field into other layouts the graphics should automatically show up. I want this particularly as the DB will be published as a web site. I am using FMPro7/8. But the graphics do not show up in the copied container field when it is pasted into other layouts. Is it the file format? The graphic is actually a composite - a number of *.png files that have been grouped and then dragged into the container field. Do I need to create a single graphic from these files in Photoshop first? I have experienced the same problem using single *.png files too so I doubt it.

I am hoping that if you have a container field used throughout a DB, if you update the graphic in any instance of the container, all the containers with the same field name should automatically update.

The layouts must either be related to or based on the same table as the original layout.

The graphic is actually a composite - a number of *.png files that have been grouped and then dragged into the container field. Do I need to create a single graphic from these files in Photoshop first?

But it's still one graphic, right? A FileMaker container cannot hold more than 1 file, object, graphic, etc. (per repitition, that is) at a time. Are you trying to drag & drop several images at once onto a field with multiple repititions?

I am hoping that if you have a container field used throughout a DB, if you update the graphic in any instance of the container, all the containers with the same field name should automatically update.

Again, these pasted container fields have to reference the base table of the layout from which they were copied if you expect the data that was in it when you copied it to appear.

I'm not sure if any of this helps...hopefullly, it does.
