Field Contents Don't Display

I've got a portal displaying related records from a separate file (not a table within the same file). The contents of one of the fields does not display normally. I can see the data when I click in the field in each row, but otherwise they look empty.

Very strange...

Both files are local. Win 2K, FileMaker Dev 7.

Try to adjust the field dimensions such that the field boundaries should be inside the portal's row.

Wish it were that simple. All fields are within the portal row boundaries, and wide enough to display the contents (4 characters).

The field which is not displaying, is it a calculation field or lookup field or normal text/number field?

I feel like an idiot, but I finally figured it out. It was a number field and for reasons unknown to me (gremlins?) it was formatted to display as boolean.

The other gotcha is whether the parent record has any related records. It's been the cause of many of my "broken" portals!
