December 8, 200520 yr I have just discovered FileMaker's new document "Development Conventions" http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/FMDev_ConvNov05.pdf I am reading it and trying to decide what will work for us. I was surprised that no one had yet posted comments here. Anyone has feedback on how well it applies to your environment?
December 8, 200520 yr MF: Just from glancing at it, it looks like a decent document, with some very good rules of thumb. I don't think FMI actually announced the release of this thing, so it might be that for the most part nobody's aware of it. -Stanley
December 9, 200520 yr WOW!! very interesting. Thank you for the wonderful find. This is going straignt to my developer kit.
December 9, 200520 yr This guide is a very good writing. Since it's been written by some of the 'top dogs' of the FileMaker industry, it would be good to at least consider the points made. Anyone that has been using FileMaker or programming in general for a while should be adhearing closely to the guidelines anyway. But, as they say - it's only a guide, not hardset rules.
June 26, 200619 yr This is very good stuff indeed! Perhaps one of the moderators could pin this to the top of this forum for future reference...
