mf Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I have just discovered FileMaker's new document "Development Conventions" http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/FMDev_ConvNov05.pdf I am reading it and trying to decide what will work for us. I was surprised that no one had yet posted comments here. Anyone has feedback on how well it applies to your environment?
stanley Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 MF: Just from glancing at it, it looks like a decent document, with some very good rules of thumb. I don't think FMI actually announced the release of this thing, so it might be that for the most part nobody's aware of it. -Stanley
Breezer Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 WOW!! very interesting. Thank you for the wonderful find. This is going straignt to my developer kit.
BrentHedden Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 This guide is a very good writing. Since it's been written by some of the 'top dogs' of the FileMaker industry, it would be good to at least consider the points made. Anyone that has been using FileMaker or programming in general for a while should be adhearing closely to the guidelines anyway. But, as they say - it's only a guide, not hardset rules.
Brian C Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 This is very good stuff indeed! Perhaps one of the moderators could pin this to the top of this forum for future reference...
