Newbies FM Confused Posted December 14, 2005 Newbies Posted December 14, 2005 First time posting and I hope this isn't too basic a question. I'm probably more novice than intermediate when it comes to FileMaker. I work in human rights non-profit. I have a field in database marked "Race". Within this field we have a value list for White, Hispanic, African American, etc. For reports, I need to show how many people of each race are contacting my office within a found group. I know I could set up the races individually as text boxes and then set up another field to tally, but I like having the value lists (race types) all within one field vs. separate fields. If anyone could help point me in the right direction for the script, I'd really appreciate it. I've tried some different calculation/summary combinations and am not finding the winning one yet.
Vaughan Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 The "race" field should only have one entry. Create a summary report to display the data you want: use the wizard if you're not sure how to do it, it's not too bad.
