cosworth Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Is there any way to change a layout automatically to another language. For example: if you have a bill to England and a bill to France, is it possible to change the language of all the fields automatically to that language without having to make a different layout or does anybody know how to make a drop-down list where i put the languages in and when i make the bill in English, i have to select the language in the drop-down list and it will automatically choose the right layout. Thx
SlimJim Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I cosworth Are you trying to automatically change the language of the layout elements - field labels, buttons, text or, as you say in your post, the language of all the fields (field contents)? If it is the former and you intend to use English and French (and maybe other languages) interchangeably then I would say the most straightforward method is to have a layout for each language and have a non-printing button or buttons on each layout which switch to the appropriate layout by language. The sort of thing you see on the home pages of international corporations where a collection of buttons with national flags switches to the appropriate country.
cosworth Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 How do i make a non-printing button. Thanx for the quick reply.
SlimJim Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Any button can be set up as non-printing it enables you to have them on print layouts. The means to do it is Select the button in Layout Mode; go to the menu Format>Set Sliding/Printing and in the dialog box at bottom left you will see a checkboix Do not print the selected objects. Check that and the button will not print (also does not show up in preview mode).
