FileMaker Server 8 Advanced now shipping

I hadn't seen anybody mention it yet, but FMSA 8 is finally shipping. My company receive our copy on Dec 28th. We were on the 1-year maintenance agreement, so we received it auto-ship for no additional charge.

I look forward to everyone's experiences with it. Please report any problems you might find.

Woo Hoo!!! I just got back from Christmas shutdown today. I'll be watching my mail closely.

My copy arrived. Not brave enough to try it yet though!

Has anyone tried Site Assistant to see what has changed? The FM site has the old FMSA7 CWP documentation.

Cheers,

Andrew

Did you install Server 8 Advanced yet? I am scheduled to do so in a week or two. Interested in finding out any gotchas before hand. Thanks.

I have not installed it yet myself. If you are planning on using it for web publishing with FX.php, you might want to look at recent posts on the forums here. There is apparently a major issue with FMSA8, php and related records (or empty ones anyway). I don't know all the details. But someone else I talked to today talked to someone else (this is what they call hearsay), and they said that it is a FileMaker xml problem not a FX.php problem. So altogether I know only rumors, but it doesn't sound good for immediate php use.
