value list in repeating fields

Hi everyone - I am fairly new to FM and hope this question is not too stupid.

I have six repeating fields set as pop-up lists with values from the same value list. I would like to be able to list all the value list items and the total number of times each item is selected in a record and also in a range of records. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using a custom value list, or is its contents based on the names or contents of other fields?
