I recently came to a new place running Filemaker Server 5.5 on a Windows 2000 server. I need to make adjustments to the server configuration, but something is wrong with the server management tool: when I try to click on any of the 6 icons in the main view, nothing happens. I would like to just reinstall FM Server but they have lost the CDs.

I suspect this is caused by the FM Server directory being moved from its original installation by someone else in the past. I'm not sure what I can do to fix it. Presumably I can alter some file or registry entry to make the server management tool point to the right place, but I don't know where. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem?

1) Contact FMI and see if they can provide replacement install CDs. You'll probably have to provide proof of purchase, say an invoice or the license install codes etc.

2) Charge by the hour for this kind of work.
