Automatic Find in script

Featured Replies

OK, so maybe I should change my profile to say beginner instead of intermediate...

I want a script to COPY the ITEM NUMBER from one table, go to a different table, and FIND all records in that table that match that item number. My script works now, except that I have to go over to the tool panel on the left side of the screen and click on "FIND" half way thru the script (after it has pasted the item number into the field). Is there a way to make it automatically FIND those records without me having to click on Find again?

Thanks!

Assuming you don't already have this in place, add a Perform Find script step to you script following the paste.

I do have "Perform Find" following the Paste in the script. I still have to click on "Find" on the left side of the window. The script does the same thing with or without "Perform Find" at the end.

My Mistake. I took a closer look. I had "Perform Find/Replace" in there instead of "Perform Find".

Now it works.

Like someone else on here said earlier... "Curse my tiny brain!!!"

Thanks! Problem solved.

Don't feel bad. When they first added that feature, I did the same thing. Not as hard to do as you might think.

I imagine you won't make that mistake again. I only made it once.

Happy FileMaking!!
